Frequently asked questions

What kind of a learner are you?

Self-directiveness
Self-directiveness refers to the learner’s ability to guide his or her own learning. This requires that you take responsibility for your learning and that you are aware of your own learning habits. Some people enjoy learning independently, setting their own aims and achieving them by following their own learning style and speed. Others would rather follow the learning path planned together with a teacher in a course. Knowing/recognizing your preferences and abilities helps you choose suitable ways and forms of study.

Global or Analytical learner?
Your learning style can be described along a global-analytic learner continuum. Global learners see things as a whole and depend on the social context for their learning (e.g. they like learning in a group through communicating with others), whereas Analytic learners look at details and the logical connections between things (e.g. they like learning from a textbook or having the teacher explain language rules to them).
