III WATCH A FILM OR LEARN ABOUT IRISH IMMIGRANTS

Your colleagues really loved your film report! You though yourself that it wasn't such a bad idea to watch a film in the middle of the day at your work place. You also think that it is, indeed, possible to learn about immigrant experiences from films. That is why you decide to continue to hear stories of immigration, and to report about the examples that you learn from films, to your colleagues.

Choose one of the following paths:

3 A) Watch the film that you didn't watch on step 2, i.e. East is East or Bend it like Beckham, do the tasks assigned to it and then go on to step four.

-> Bend it like Beckham > 3a

3 B) Watch the film that you didn't watch in step 2, i.e. East is East or Bend it like Beckham, do the tasks assigned to it and then go on to step four.

-> East is East > 3b

3 C) Look at the issues concerning immigration from a different point of view, and learn about Ireland and the Irish. Did you know that several million people have left Ireland mainly for America? Choosing this path takes you to step 4a of the Ireland WebQuest. On that step, your task is to watch the film In America (2003), which tells a story of a young Irish family moving to New York. Watching the film will help you understand why so many Irish people emigrated from the green island. If you choose this path, you have a great opportunity to compare Asian and Irish immigrant experiences. N.B. Note that if you are going to complete the WebQuest on Ireland (or if you have already completed it), you cannot choose the same task twice!

-> In America from the Ireland WebQuest > 3c
