Changing a sentence type is a good technique for paraphrasing. You can
do it by using different kinds of transition words:
Coordinating conjunctions:

But, yet, so, for, and, or

Subordinating conjunctions:

Although, though, even though, while, whereas, in spite of the
fact that, because, due to the fact that, since, as now that
|
Sentence transitions:

However, nevertheless, as a result, consequently,
therefore, thus, moreover, in addition, furthermore, also, otherwise,

Prepositions:

Despite, in spite of, in contrast to, unlike, because of, due to,
in addition to

Examples:
It was easy to find the first control point, but
the second one was well hidden in the shrubbery.

While the first control point was
easy to find, the second one was well hidden in the shrubbery.

The first control point was easy to find; however,
the second one was well hidden in the shrubbery.

Unlike the second control point, which
