INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE LANGUAGE COMPASS FORUM
HOW TO FIND THE FORUM ?
HOW TO REGISTER AND LOG IN ?
In order to be able to post messages on the
Language Compass Forum, you must first register. Click Rekisteröidy
and follow the instructions.
Log in at the upper right-hand corner: type your Käyttäjätunnus
and Salasana and click Kirjaudu sisään
.
HOW TO GET ACCESS RIGHTS TO THE WEBQUEST
AREA IN FORUM
When you have logged in Forum, go to Omat
tiedot. Under Muut toiminnot, choose Ryhmien jäsenyydet
and click on Join group next to WebQuest. Your tutor will
give you access rights to the WebQuest area as soon as possible.
HOW TO CHANGE FORUM LANGUAGE
Although the forum cannot translate the actual contents of messages, all the controls and help text can be shown to you also in English. In case you want to change the language, do the following:
1. Choose Omat tiedot
2. Choose Asetukset/Muokkaa asetuksia
3. Choose English in Muut toiminnot/Foorumin kieli (at the end of the page) and click Tallenna muutokset .
COMPLETING THE TASKS RELATED TO WEBQUESTS
1. Choose WebQuest under the heading Culture Club.
2. Choose either the WebQuest on Ireland or the WebQuest on cultural diversity in Britain.

Click the name of the WebQuest you are working on. After that, you will see different Threads ( Aihe) to choose from. The threads consist of questions or instructions related to the particular WebQuest..

Click the thread you are about the answer, and you will see the questions/instructions for that particular task.

To write your answers, click the button Post reply (Vastaa aiheeseen). Give your answer a title (optional) and write your answer in the box.

It is also possible to attach files to your message (e.g. if you have drawn a timeline or compiled a handout). Attach a file to your message by clicking Manage Attachments (Hallitse liitteitä) under the heading Attach files. Follow the instructions.

Send your message by clicking Submit Reply (Lisää viesti). Your message will be added to the the end of the thread.
Example: To answer the questions related to the film/book Angela's Ashes in the WebQuest on Ireland, go to
Forum > Culture Club > WebQuest > WebQuest on Ireland > II Angela's Ashes
