Portfolio is a collection of your written texts (exercises, essays, learning diaries, self-evaluation etc.). Portfolio may be the instrument of evaluation of language skills in addition to or instead of a final exam.

At the end of the course, you will be asked to put all those tasks together to make a portfolio. Your portfolio demonstrates what you have done and what you know. A learning portfolio should also include description and evaluation of your working process, self-evaluation of your strengths and weaknesses as a learner, self-evaluation of the development of your study skills and future goals for your learning.
Putting together a portfolio puts you face-to-face with your own learning:
you will become aware of what you really know and don't know. You will
notice that the outcomes of studying are a result of your own input and
use of appropriate learning strategies. As a student you will compare
your progress only with your own work, not with the work of others. At
the end, you should know which kinds of learning tasks are interesting
and meaningful for you, you should recognise your own skills,
strengths and needs, you should be able to set new goals for yourself
and most of all, you should notice the originality and quality of your
work and feel pride of your good work and progress.
