  1. Prepositions: look for, look at, look to, look into, look over, look up to, look back...

  2. Consider the meaning of the phrasal verbs above and their use.

  3. Adverb: look closely; adjectives: look good, look old, look nice, look well, look happier

  4. Trendy, fashionable etc... Fashion magazines? But new look, closer look, good look, quick look, hard look, open look are the most frequent, albeit perhaps not found in this manner in the corpus.

  5. Have a look, take a look

  6. Look over someone's shoulder, look forward to, look someone in the eye etc. Cf. "He gave me a funny look"

  7. Look, mate.. Typical of spoken language. Hardly occurs in written, except for fiction.
