It is not excactly wrong to say throw doubt on, but far more common is to say cast doubt on. Any of the search strings doubt on, [v*] doubt on or * doubt on can be used to draw the conclusion.

Give way to. To is the preposition most commonly used with give way, for is rare. The best results are obtained with the search string give way [prp] or give way * as you get to see al list of all the prepositions the phrase takes in the corpus.

Instead of doing decisions, you make decisions about something. Make decisions on something is also correct. The search string for the best results could have been [v*] decisions about or more simply * decisions about. If you tried a string do decisions * , good! You were on the right track in using a corpus, although could not perhaps find what you were looking for.
